Tether Wallet is Live

Tether Wallet launched publicly this month - a self-custodial, multi-chain wallet built entirely on WDK. Available on iOS and Android.

This is the most significant validation of WDK to date: the same modular SDK available to every developer now powers Tether's own flagship wallet in production. Everything that ships in WDK is battle-tested at scale.

New features released

• signTransaction method - New method added to the IWalletAccount interface and implemented across all wallet modules (EVM, BTC, Solana, Spark). Returns a signed transaction object without broadcasting, enabling partners to manage submission independently.
• ISigner architecture - New chain-agnostic ISigner interface (derive, getAddress, dispose) added to wdk-wallet. WalletManager now accepts signers instead of seeds directly, with implementations for BTC (SeedSignerBtc, PrivateKeySignerBtc, LedgerSignerBtc) and EVM.
• wdk-failover-provider (v1.0.0-beta.2) - New module providing transparent fallback to secondary RPC and pricing providers, reducing single-point-of-failure exposure. Now integrated into EVM, BTC, and Solana wallet modules.
• EIP-681 payment request URI support - Handlers for parsing and generating EIP-681 payment URIs, available to all WDK consumers.
• Community package review pipeline - We established a new process for evaluating community contributions to WDK. If you have built a module and want it included in the ecosystem Submit your module.
• All WDK how-to guides completed - Every module now has in-depth guides covering installation, configuration, and common workflows, enjoy!
• New tools are documented - Docs added for Failover Provider, Pear Worklet WDK, WDK Utils, and Worklet Bundler.

• wdk-wallet-evm (v1.0.0-beta.12) - Failover provider with automatic fallback, signTransaction for offline signing, auto-detect chain ID when not in config.
• wdk-wallet-btc (v1.0.0-beta.9) - signTransaction support, failover provider integration, unconfirmed balance visibility, optional timeoutMs on sendTransaction().
• wdk-wallet-solana (v1.0.0-beta.8) - signTransaction method, getTokenBalances batch-fetching for SPL tokens, optimized getTokenBalance to single RPC call, renamed rpcUrl to provider for WDK consistency, integration test suite added.
• wdk-wallet-spark (v1.0.0-beta.18) - signTransaction support, SparkScan-backed getBalance(), syncAndRetry and syncWalletBalance() methods, Spark SDK bumped to 0.7.16.
• wdk-wallet-evm-erc-4337 (v1.0.0-beta.6) - Fixed duplicate WalletAccountReadOnly creation in method calls. Read-only client now cached and reused, drastically reducing unnecessary eth_chainId calls.
• wdk (v1.0.0-beta.8) - Fix for 24-word seed phrase support, selective wallet disposal.
• wdk-protocol-fiat-moonpay (v1.0.0-beta.2) - Breaking: config updated to client-side only, moved from secretKey to optional backend signUrl, added environment support.
• wdk-react-native-core (v1.0.0-beta.9) - Balance fetch timeout cleanup, linting fixes. Full docs updated for v1.0.0-beta.7+, replacing all references to deprecated wdk-react-native-provider.
• READMEs improved across wdk-wallet-evm, wdk-wallet-evm-erc-4337, wdk-wallet-solana, wdk-wallet-ton, wdk-wallet-tron, and wdk core.

Fixes

• wdk-wallet-solana - KeyPairSigner fix, durable nonce check correction, hardened path simplification.
• wdk-wallet-btc - Pending UTXO bug resolved, wallet now correctly blocks sends when funds are locked in unconfirmed transactions.
• wdk-wallet-spark - Balance polling bug fixed where balances changed incorrectly after receiving funds.
• wdk-wallet-solana - Solana message creation logic corrected to handle all relevant conditional branches.
• wdk - Security fix for CodeQL-flagged prototype pollution issue.
• Bare dependency updates (bare-tls, bare-https, bare-fetch@3) applied across all WDK modules.

On the Horizon

• Native mobile SDKs - wdk-core-swift and a Swift starter wallet are in final stages. wdk-kotlin-core is now in active development. Native iOS and Android developers will soon be able to build WDK-powered wallets without a React Native dependency.
• EIP-7702 gasless transfer module - In review, targeting next release. An alternative to the existing ERC-4337 approach, EIP-7702 offers a lighter-weight path to sponsor gas fees for end users sending Tether assets.
• wdk-asset-registry - A centralized token registry module mapping tokens to contract addresses across all supported networks. Eliminates the need to manually track and hardcode contract addresses in your integration.
• Local Transaction Policy Engine - A configurable policy layer that intercepts wallet operations (sends, transfers, signing) before execution. Enables developers to enforce spending limits, allowlists, and custom rules at the SDK level.
• Unified Swap & Bridge Interface - A single intent-based interface for same-chain and cross-chain token operations is being planned, removing the need for developers to distinguish between swaps and bridges.

From the Community

Hackathon Galactica judging is in its final stage - 35 projects were shortlisted from the 206 submissions. Winners will be announced on Discord.

New community modules emerging: BermudaBay independently built wdk-wallet-bermuda, and the Arkade module (wdk-wallet-arkade) is nearly ready for publication after review. On the protocol side, Morpho has submitted wdk-protocol-lending-morpho-evm, which is currently under review by the WDK tech team.
